LOCATION: Madison, Wisconsin

Out client is a large DAIRY Co-Op based in the Madison, WI area with 8 plants in the State. Based on recent growth, they created a new hybrid analytical role supporting Purchasing, Inventory, Production, Scheduling, Supply Chain and Customers. This hybrid role is called Sales Inventory and Operational Planning Analyst and will be located in their NEW Corporate office in Middleton, WI and this position can work remotely a few days per week as the business dictates .

The Sales, Inventory and Operational Planning (SIOP) Analyst will lead a cross-functional team in the organization without direct authority to ensure internal alignment between commercial, milk supply, supply chain, and operations. Ensuring both our short-term decision making and strategic projects align to our market-led and customer centric approach while still meeting the profitability targets of the organization.


  • Lead tactical meetings on a weekly basis to help ensure supply and demand are balanced across the organization, and all key stakeholders are informed of current plans to ensure seamless execution.

  • Working in tandem with the Manager of Dairy Analytics to execute a comprehensive mass balance ensuring our member milk supply and finished good demand are aligned in both the short-term and longer-term planning horizon.

  • Leading the organization through ad-hoc situations that may arise in terms of unplanned downtime, significant quality issues, supply chain logistics, etc. Keeping our customers at the forefront of all decisions we make while ensuring alignment internally.

  • Decision maker for demand prioritization when in over capacity situations by using data around margin levels, growth potential, recent fill rates, etc. to help drive the decision making process.

  • Responsible for owning the demand planning function within the commercial sales team Analyzing and reporting on customer trends and patterns to ensure forecast accuracy and help us achieve better order fill rates through effective planning.

  • Working cross-functionally with the sales CRM analyst to lead a build out reporting capabilities within the commercial team. Key outcomes of a successful build out will include:

o Fully integrated Salesforce platform for both customer 360’s and integrated SIOP process

o Real-time sales actual vs forecast tracking for customer orders

o Commercial key metrics build out for both strategic initiatives and daily tactical needs

  • Developing and maintaining success at our customer fulfillment center by building out new analytics and processes to ensure we can meet demands of our customers including lead-time, On-Time and In Full rate, and quality standards while still meeting profitability targets.

  • Working collaboratively with the Finance department to meet monthly and annual forecasting and planning deadlines, run profitability scenarios when needed for balancing to ensure we are operating in the most profitable way at all times.

  • Ad-hoc project work as needed for both strategic and tactical projects that may arise. The ability to quickly gather data and facts and present and communicate to all levels of the organization including the executive leadership team, corporate employees, and our manufacturing facilities.

  • Occasional travel for work, up to 20% of the time


The following are required competencies of the position that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  • Must have at least a BA/BS degree in business, economics, mathematics, supply chain or related field, knowledge related to the job

  • Must have 3-5 years experience in Supply Chain, Analytics, Demand Planning, Scheduling or similar job-related experience

  • Prior food or dairy manufacturing experience is preferred

  • Prefer candidates that have experience working with Commodities

  • Must have the ability to operate all information technology related business systems, programs and applications in a manner that achieves efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of information processing and reporting as it applies to this position.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is required.

  • Salesforce experience highly preferred.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as dictated letters or memoranda, invoices, company policies and various documentation, paying particular attention to grammar.

  • Ability to process routine reports and correspondences and effectively communicate with employees, customers and others.

  • Must have excellent presentation skills, Powerpoint etc .

  • Must have strong DATE ANALYTICS CAPABILITY, including the ability to quickly analyze data and develop trend reporting, correlations, etc.

  • Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must have strong financial and business acumen, proven problem-solving skills and demonstrates good judgment in decision-making
