Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of customized flavors used in some of the most popular food and beverages across the globe. Due to continue growth, they are seeking to hire an experienced SPRAY DRYING PRODUCTION SUPEVISOR to be based in their NY plant located in the Goshen, NY area. The Production Supervisor will oversee production and hourly employees working in the plant and ensure appropriate SOP and GMP guidelines are followed and production and quality goals are met. They supervise work flow, training, techniques and SQF protocols within spray dry manufacturing area. Maintain equipment and inventory in ready-to-use condition.


  • Supervise the day-to-day production schedule in coordination with powdered products manager.

  • Supervise production personnel in spray dry powder blending, resale and butter operations.

  • Monitor inventory levels of required intermediate chemicals, raw materials, and packaging materials.

  • Prepare orders for shipping by reviewing sales orders, printing labels, palletizing shipments, checking documents, maintaining records, and loading trucks.

  • Demonstrates leadership in areas of safety. Establishes, observes, and enforces safety rules and practices. Ensures compliance to local, state, federal and corporate requirements for safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection issues.

  • Ensures all equipment is operating in a safe and efficient manner according to design.

  • Supervise all powder production (butter and resale) operations in accordance with GMP and ISO requirements.

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.

  • Coordinates activities with different department supervisors as needed.

  • Promotes a performance-based workforce. Conducts annual performance appraisals with subordinates. Develops appropriate objectives for manufacturing personnel.

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

  • Fill in and operate spray dryers, blender, butter and resale operations when needed.

  • Any other assignments as directed by Powder Products Manager.

  • Responsible for maintaining the SQF, ISO 9001:2015 and EFfCI requirements.

  • Works within proper GMP, HACCP, Allergen, SSOP, Kosher, Halal, SQF, ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI and Safety guidelines.

  • Serves as back up to the Powder Flavor Manager and back up for the Recall Team.

  • Responsible for peer review (see something, say something) as this position is an APS a defined by FSMA.

  • Responsible for food safety and food defense.

  • Required to attend annual food safety refresher training.


  • BA/BS preferred but NOT required with prior experience

  • Must have above average communication skills

  • Food Manufacturing experience is required

  • Spray drying or flavor manufacturing is preferred.

  • Knowledge of SQF and/or BRC is helpful

  • Mechanical background a plus.

  • HACCP certification preferred

  • Willing to get FDQI training (Internally)
