Staff Accountant NJ

Summary

Our client is a multi-plant USDA Food Manufacturer based in Budd Lake, NJ. Based on growth, they are looking to hire a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to support the current CFO and accounting at two facilities in NJ.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update accounting records, documents, and files.
• Post transactions in the general ledger. Update the Company’s General Ledger and reconcile costs and payables with General Ledger and Group Reporting tools on a monthly basis.
• Support CFO with quarterly reporting to the Parent Company.
• Support CFO with monthly period-end procedures (reconcile prepaid expenses, fixed assets and depreciation, inventory valuation).
• Ensure that invoices received from vendors are properly booked in the ERP on a daily basis. Interact with other departments to ensure that receiving documents related to the goods received for the day are properly delivered and match receiving with invoices. Interact with managers/supervisors/head of department to ensure that all invoices are approved in a timely manner.
• Maintain relations with vendors regarding the AP balances and respond to their inquiries/reconcile balances.
• Monitor Accounts Payable balances on a daily basis and discuss payments with CFO.
• Prepare documents for audits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance;
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in accounting, preferably in food industry;
• Solid communication skills (oral and written) and effective interpersonal communication skills;
• Excellent Time Management and Organizational Skills;
• Must be Self-Motivated, Energetic, Proactive, Creative and a Problem Solver;
• Sound knowledge and experience with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Demonstrated ability to develop plans, establish priorities and organize activities to optimize the functionality of the accounting department.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus • Foreign language (Spanish and/or Italian), a plus
• Experience in food industry preferred
