Logistics & Inventory Management Specialist

Summary

Our client is known worldwide for its high-quality, specialized dairy ingredient manufacturing capabilities, innovative product portfolio, and collaborative approach to new product and business development. Developing, producing, and delivering a range of specialty dairy ingredient solutions for the global food, nutrition, and pharmaceutical markets, the Company has grown and is investing in their people and resources around the world Due to recent expansion in the US, they are looking to hire a Logistics & Inventory Management Specialist to be based in Center Valley PA. The Logistics & Inventory Management Specialist will manage the company’s USA’s logistics and inventory management functions, including import/export related activities, order processing (inbound & outbound), demand-based shipment forecasting, warehousing, and sample library management. This role also provides business operations support including office support tasks.

Responsibilities

• Based on demand, generate POs (in ERP) for inbound product (direct ship to customers and replenishment stock to 3PLs)
• Review daily report of vessel bookings for inbound material and update internal records / stakeholders as appropriate
• Support customs broker in managing product import related activities and documentation from pre-clearance through receipt into 3PL warehouses
• Review 3PL product receiver documentation to ensure accuracy; identify & resolve discrepancies; coordinate with Finance Manager to receive material in to ERP system
• Review product import, transit and warehousing vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Coordinate with “Supply Chain & Sales Support Role” to accurately process customer orders in a timely manner using Company’s ERP system (customer PO entry through invoicing)
• Submit orders and manage all interactions with Company’s 3PL groups and systems to ensure on-time and in-full delivery of outbound orders
• Review month-end reports to identify differences in expected vs. actual outbound shipments /sales
• Proactively manage sample inventory including:
• Preparing / sending sample shipments to customers
• Tracking transit / updating appropriate team member(s)
• Maintaining accurate sample inventory • Reviewing sample stocks with sales team & requisitioning replenishment samples to ensure adequate stocks are available when need

Requirements

• Must have a BA/BS degree • Must have prior Supply Chain/Logistics experience with a food, ingredient, flavor, chemical, pharmaceutical Manufacturing experience • Must have at least 4+ years in B2B supply chain management, with international experience in specialty/functional ingredients or chemicals preferred • Must have experience managing imports • Must have experience working with an ERP required – JDE preferred • Must have above average relationship skills and ability to build and maintain productive relationships • Must be capable of rapid absorption of information • Must have strong ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally • Must have exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. • Must have exceptional prioritization and time management • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
