QA Manager - Bakery Related

Location: Atlanta, GA area

Our client, a growing industry leader serving the food and foodservice marketplace is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all the Quality Control activities at their Manufacturing and High Speed Packaging facility located just outside of Atlanta, GA.

This Management position will manage one QC Supervisor and 15 Lab Technicians on three different shifts. This position will report directly to the VP of Quality located in the Corporate office.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of QA experience, including 3 years of supervision. Company would like applicants with some Bakery related experience.  

Applicant must be capable of developing, maintaining and implementation of the Company’s quality policies, GMP, SOP, and HACCP programs. This team member oversees the daily duties of the QA Supervisor and Lab Technicians in the performance of their duties while monitoring total plant compliance to established quality standards.

As a member of the Quality Assurance Team, duties include, but are not limited to: product testing for regulation standards, customer and Company specifications; purchasing of general laboratory supplies monitoring budgetary controls; reviewing microbiological and chemical testing documentation for accuracy and completeness; assisting with product testing, evaluations of processing rooms, equipment, and machinery to ensure compliance to Company SSOP standards; reviewing HACCP and SSOP records and documentation for accuracy and completeness; and maintaining the QA Retained Log.

This position requires a professional who enjoys working on multiple quality concerns. Strong communication and evaluation skills are a must.

This self-starter must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or a related degree. Only Quality applicants with supervisory experience in the food processing industry will be considered. Employer offers very competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
