Job Description:
Our client is a well known, global manufacturer of technology based solutions for the Food & Beverage industry. They are dedicated to being the number one supplier in their various markets measured through technical and marketing creativity, product quality, superior customer service, value creation and the wholehearted commitment of all their employees! Due to continued growth and expansion, they are seeking an experienced COMMERCIAL MANAGER (Cost Accounting Manager) to be based at their corporate office located in Rockford, IL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ÿ Preparing cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts.
Ÿ Conducting business analysis of products and customers activities and be involved in the development of initiatives to increase sales.
Ÿ Ensuring appropriate systems are in place to maintain or enhance current margin levels.
Ÿ Checking data on labor and materials costs burden and expense items, inventory, and profit and loss adjustments.
Ÿ Devising, installing or controlling systems for determining unit cost of products or services.
Ÿ Information gathering and analysis relating to inventory, equipment, and labor costs utilizing QAD and Microsoft applications.
Ÿ Regularly review and update material cost standards.
Ÿ Manage & maintain inter-company transfer pricing.
Ÿ Determine labor and overhead rates and apply to material cost standards.
Ÿ Perform the reporting and commentary on actual monthly results for the division and provide comparative analysis to current forecast and prior year.
Ÿ Prepares and reports analysis on operational performance and budget variances to strengthen cost controls, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies.
Ÿ Analyzes production yield, costs, and efficiencies.
Ÿ Provide data and are an integral part of the annual budget process to ensure resulting standards are accurate.
Ÿ Ensure budget is prepared in sufficient detail to ensure proper analysis can be performed.
Ÿ Create efficient senior management summaries to highlight findings on a monthly basis.
Ÿ Perform month end and pre month end duties.
Ÿ Develop and implement procedures in writing to standardize costing and analysis of product output costs.
Ÿ Develop standard costs for Marketing and new template to ensure accuracy of costing for ease of use for Marketing and Customer P&L's.
Ÿ Provide cost accounting support for the plant and act as the liaison between plant and Corporate Accounting.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ÿ Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting/finance or related area.
Ÿ Must have at least 5 years of cost accounting and costing experience
Ÿ Prefer applicants that have supervisory experience
Ÿ CPA or CMA is a plus.
Ÿ Must have 7+ years of manufacturing accounting experience, preferably in a Commercial Analyst role or Cost Accounting role.
Ÿ Must have a strong business acumen and be commercially driven
Ÿ Must have excellent communication skills
Ÿ Must have strong computer skills
