Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of quality food, beverages ingredients and flavors. Due to continued growth and expansion they are seeking an experienced NUTRITIONIST to help support their BEVERAGE R&D and Sales teams. The NUTRITIONIST will report into the Research and Development Team. This key position could be a stepping stone for a more senior position within R&D or Technical Sales

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ÿ  Participation in product development, pilot plant trials, ingredient evaluation and flavor selection

Ÿ  Regulatory liaison for labeling claims purposes etc.

Ÿ  Serve as the Beverage "go to person" for all nutrition related questions

Ÿ  Participate in customer projects providing direction as it relates to nutritional targets

Ÿ  Serve as customer contact when discussing nutrition related topics Support account managers as needed (traveling to customers)

Ÿ  Support marketing by staying abreast of latest nutritional beverage launches

Ÿ  Identify latest nutrition trends and help provide strategic direction to the beverage group.

Ÿ  Educate internal sales/marketing/ R&D as well as customers

Ÿ  Support Custom Products ensuring Companies private label products are in line with the brand

Ÿ  Serving as nutrition expert for targeted retailers  

REQUIREMENTS:

Ÿ  MUST have at least a BS in Nutrition, MS preferred.

Ÿ  MUST have at least 5 years experience as a Nutritionist

Ÿ  MUST have at least 5 years experience working for a food manufacturer, beverage manufacturer or food ingredient company.

Ÿ  PREFERS applicant to have some prior experience working with beverages

Ÿ  MUST have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate complicated technical information to non-technical people.

Ÿ  MUST have experience interacting with R&D, Sales and Customers

Ÿ  MUST be current and provide strategic direction to the Sales and R&D teams as to the latest Nutritional trends and competitor Beverage launches 

Ÿ  MUST have exposure of Food and Beverage Labeling and Regulatory requirements.

Ÿ  MUST have experience working with ingredients and nutritional ingredients

Ÿ  MUST have a strong business acumen

Ÿ  MUST have excellent computer and software experience i.e. Microsoft Office

Ÿ  MUST be willing to travel occasionally
