Job Description: Two Positions
Our client is a well known Manufacturer of quality FOOD, CEREAL INGREDIENTS and CONFECTIONARY INGREDIENTS. Due to expansion, they are currently seeking a PURCHASING INGREDIENTS BUYER. The PURCHASING INGREDIENTS BUYER will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and leading activities for purchasing and distributing materials and performing the following duties:
RESPONSIBLITIES:
Ÿ Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the categories of spend managed.
Ÿ Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
Ÿ Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability/price, and prepares market analysis reports.
Ÿ Develops and utilizes a system to evaluate vendor quotations with the appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
Ÿ Designs, implements, manages, and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
Ÿ Recruits and maintains suppliers that provide high quality products and services at a better price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
Ÿ Prepares and issues purchase contracts and change notices.
Ÿ Reviews and resolves vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Ÿ Inventory management and utilization.
Ÿ Oversees all activities related to procurement of a material, from intent to purchase through delivery of the material.
Ÿ Negotiates complex requests for materials.
Ÿ Arranges buy backs of surplus materials.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ÿ MUST have a Bachelor’s degree; a packaging engineering degree is preferred.
Ÿ MUST have 3-5 years of related purchasing experience with an impressive track record of accomplishments and continuous improvements in purchasing.
Ÿ Experienced in leveraging vendor relationships and achieving sizable cost savings from strategic cost reduction programs.
Ÿ Experience running negotiations through e-procurement.
Ÿ In addition to English, Spanish is beneficial.
Ÿ Efficient in Excel and Word
