Manager
Location: Boston, MA
JOB SUMMARY
Our client is a leading provider of
testing, quality assurance and R&D services for the food and
consumer products industry. They have an immediate opening for an
experienced manager in our microbiology laboratory. This position
will be managing a staff of approximately 10 technicians/scientists
as well as technical management of all projects and procedures.
Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities:

Responsible for
laboratory compliance to Regulatory, Quality Assurance, Safety and
operational policies, procedures and practices.
·
Responsible for the
successful hiring, evaluating, training, promoting and developing of
employees.
·
Responsible for the
timely and accurate completion of work orders for project and
account managers.
·
Must exercise judgment
in time management, work scheduling, project coordination,
maintaining instruments, facilities and documentation of work.
·
Responsible for the
identification and solution of technical and operational problems.
·
Demonstrates superior
knowledge of a wide variety of tests, analysis or experimental
techniques.
·
Participates in
activities related to professional advancement, including seminars,
professional societies and continuing education opportunities.
·
Administers and
explains policies and procedures to employees.
·
Reviewing all data
coming out of the laboratories for accuracy and completion.
·
Researches new
technology to maintain up-to-date methods and procedures.
Job Requirements:
·
Minimum of a Bachelors
degree (Microbiology, Food Science or Similar Science) in related
field and Six years of relevant food microbiological experience.
·
Must have a strong
microbiological testing background
·
Must have experience
with various tests and testing equipment, HPLC, HPLC mass spec etc.
·
Must have food testing
experience and prefer experience with pharmaceuticals, OTCs, among
others.
·
Must have at least 3
-5 years of management experience
·
Must have demonstrated
written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to
effectively communicate with all levels of in-house staff and
clients.
·
Must be familiar with
government agencies and regulations as they apply. FDA, USDA,
Auditing etc.
·
Good working knowledge
of Word, Excel, Internet and E-Mail.
