Beverage Scientist - Nutritional & Alchoholic

Our client is a global manufacturer of high quality, natural and nutritional dairy and fruit based ingredients and beverages. Their quality products and ingredients sold in over 100 countries around the globe.
One of their divisions is the leader in emulsified beverage technology, developing both alcoholic and nutritional beverages for manufacturers and marketers of beverages. As a result of continued growth, they are seeking a Beverage Scientist to join their product development team located in Rochester, NY. The Beverage Scientist/Product Developer will be working with both NUTRITIONAL AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES utilizing dairy based ingredients and emulsification systems to create liquid concentrates, ready to bottle liquids and RTD.
Description
Using creativity, the Beverage Scientist will initiate, design, develop, test, monitor, refine and implement new or improved products and technologies and select, fine-tune and prepare new developments for hand-over to an operational environment, in line with the R&D and/or business strategy, in order to enable the company to commercialize new products.
REQUIREMENTS
· Set up, plan, execute and analyze experiments and report on the results, taking into account possible risks, in line with the business strategy
· Develop in close co-operation with the customer, new products from idea state, to pilot and production scale as well as assist with the final implementation at the customer
· Keep up with relevant developments and build and maintain a network of relevant internal and external relations, stakeholders, partners and customers
· Perform bench-top and pilot lab scale-up activities
· Pro-actively come with new ideas and advice in order to use/commercialize them
· Set up necessary QA documents needed for product development / introductions as well as judge provided information of ingredients used
· Travel required with possibility of extended stay
· Supports projects as project leader or team member
· Trouble shoot production / customer problems as needed
· Interface with QC labs concerning R&D and production prototype analysis data
· Test new raw materials for production
· Interest in flavors, alcoholic and nutritional beverages is preferred
· BS required in Chemistry, Food Science or equivalent
· 3+ years of R&D experience working with beverages (including alcoholic and nutritional beverages).
· The ideal applicant will have some experience working with dairy based ingredients and emulsification systems.
· Must be proactive and able to run multiple projects parallel
· Must have above average and persuasive communication skills
· Must have strong analytical and reporting skills
