Our client is a global leader in the manufacturer of quality foods and specialty ingredients. They are currently seeking a second shift PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR for one of their key facilities located just south of St Louis, MO. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor who is looking for a company that can offer unlimited career opportunities. Company prefers applicants currently living in the St. Louis area but will provide relocation assistance for the qualified applicant. Applicants MUST have prior Food Manufacturing experience to be considered.  The Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate activities of hourly production employees on their shift.    

Responsibilities:

• Under direction, schedules and sets up production lines involving a variety of processing and packaging operations.

·         Analyzes work orders to estimate employee hours and create equipment-operating schedules that meet both internal and external needs. ·

·         Inspects and approves work areas for proper production set up and sanitation conditions. ·

·         Checks flow of work, analyzes delays and scrap problems, and takes corrective action. ·

·         Periodically tests product to ensure that product quality is maintained. · Recommends new quality improvement concepts in order to improve efficiency and scheduling. ·

·         Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems. ·

·         Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.. Maintains time and production records. ·

·         Directly responsible for the supervision of production employees in the plant, including training, employee motivation, performance evaluations, maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws, disciplinary action, and recommend compensation adjustments. 

Qualifications 

• Must have a High School Diploma, BA/BS degree is preferred.
• Company will consider applicants without a degree if they have 5+ years of production supervisory experience within the food industry.
• Applicants must have 3 year of FOOD manufacturing experience
• Must be willing to work on the second shift
• Must have good communication/people skills and be computer literate
