Senior Food Scientist
Location: St Louis, MO
Job Description:
Our client is a Diversified, International Food Manufacturer located in the St. Louis, MO area. Due to recent growth they are actively seeking an experienced SR FOOD SCIENTIST with CEREAL related R&D experience. This position is focused on creating new Cereal related products. Prior Cereal R&D experience is required. To qualify, the applicant must have at least 8-10 years of prior R&D, food scientist experience with at least 5 years specializing in cereal products marketed and sold into the retail or foodservice segments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ÿ Develop new Retail and foodservice CEREAL PRODUCTS
Ÿ Will take new ideas from concept to commercialization.
Ÿ Manage multiple projects and provide leadership and expertise in the area of cereals.
Ÿ Perform bench-top and pilot lab scale-up activities
Ÿ Work in multidisciplinary team as a project leader or team member
Ÿ Trouble shoot and provide technical assistance to production as needed
Ÿ Coordinate product/process modifications to meet specific specifications
Ÿ Attend trade shows and keep other staff members up to date on new technology within the RETAIL and FOODSERVICE segments.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ÿ Masters or PHD is strongly preferred in Cereal Science, Grain Science, Food Science or similar.
Ÿ Must have at least 8+ years of R&D experience with at least 5 years in CEREAL development or Cereal Ingredient applications
Ÿ Be able to multitask and run multiple parallel projects
Ÿ Must have Excellent and persuasive communication skills
Ÿ Must be pro-active
Ÿ Strong analytical and reporting skills required
