HR Manager

Our client is a large, well known and respected global food manufacturer. They are currently seeking an experienced HR Manager with manufacturing and labor experience. 

 

 This HR MANAGER provides human resources leadership for 2 two unionized manufacturing plants located in Central and Northern CA and acts as the HR business partner to improve the effectiveness and business results of the operation. The position is based in Tulare, CA.  The Manager provides HR services to approximately 550+ hourly union and 90+ management and office staff employees. Responsibilities include organizational development, coaching supervisors, employee and labor relations, recruitment and selection, compensation and performance management, employee communications, safety, EEO, ADA, COBRA, FMLA compliance.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

ˇ        This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or closely related field and a minimum of 5 years as a Human Resources generalist, preferably in a union manufacturing environment. Must possess knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of Human Resources Management.

ˇ        Must have HR generalist expertise with an emphasis on hourly recruitment and selection processes, employment law, EEO, ADA, COBRA, FMLA, safety and worker’s compensation.

ˇ        Must have strong collaboration, facilitation, and leadership skills as well as demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of employees.

ˇ        Must have solid communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), be an active listener, customer-focused, and demonstrate unquestionable ethics and values.

ˇ        Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, present facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, make recommendations effectively, and execute plans of action. Must have excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.

ˇ        Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and experienced with HRIS systems.

ˇ        Relocation is available but company strongly prefers applicants from CA
