President - Food Ingredients

JOB SUMMARY

Our client is a 500MM global supplier of proprietary Flavors, Fragrances and Ingredients. They are currently seeking a President to manage the US Ingredient Division. The President will have accountability for approximately 45MM in US Sales as well as managing 175 employees in this division. This position is based in NJ and reports to the E.V.P. located outside of the US. .

The primary responsibility for the President will be to direct all short and long term ingredient initiatives and manage change to expand sales, increase market share and achieve maximum profitability. The President will ensure the Company is a market leader by coordinating the various aspects of the business to satisfy customer’s needs and requirements. The ultimate goal is to ensure the long-term sustainable growth.

This position requires regular communication within the Sr. Management team as it relates to strategic decisions which affect the group as a whole.     

·        Direct the Business Unit Managers in execution of the Strategic Business Plan to support the sustained growth targets designed by management.  This includes the growth of existing products lines and acquired Intellectual Property.

·        Evaluate potential alliance, acquisition and/or merger candidates on an ongoing basis. 

·        Participate in the management of several Business Reports to monitor growth projections. Such activities include - Critical Success Factor Sales /Marketing meetings, Margin Meetings, Operating Committee and Sales & Product Variance Reports. 

·        Hold Operating Committee meetings regularly to update key staff on ongoing projects and issues.

·        Develop action plans for any identified areas for improvements. 

·        Visit Targeted Key Customers with sales people.   

·        Support initiatives designed to have better control over inventory for a growing business. 

·        Provide input that allows maximum product profitability.  
Maintain close and open communication with Global Group Counterparts to ensure worldwide coordination of efforts. 

·        Represent Company at various industry related functions.

  • Keep EVP informed of key strategic and commercial activities.
  • Manage and expand the USA business in all business unit areas. 
  • Must organize, prioritize and solve problems associated with the management and direction of the company. 
  • Support the profitability of the product lines though periodic review of various customer, products and Business Unit margin reports. 
  • Participate and support the development of a comprehensive business plan that strategically embraces change and direction of the company.    

REQUIREMENTS  

  • Must have at least a B.S. degree. Preferable in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Business. MBA in advanced Management/Finance is highly desired.
  • Must have at least 15 years of Management experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations etc. within the Ingredients/Flavors/Chemical Industry.
  • Must have significant P&L experience
  • Excellent skills in communication, motivation, guiding and working with people are essential. 
  • Also requires advanced skills in entrepreneurial/strategic thinking. 
  • International Business experience is advantageous.  
  • He or she must be computer literate and able to work in both PC and mainframe environments. 
  • He or she must be a self-starter with good organizational skills.
