Food Scientist - Protein Hydrolysates
Location: Upstate New York
Our client is an expanding, global international dairy and specialty ingredient manufacturer. Due to recent growth in the organization, they are actively seeking an experienced Product Developer - Food Scientist with dairy protein experience to join their existing R&D team. This position reports to the R&D Director and is based in upstate NY. To qualify, the applicant must have prior R&D experience working with dairy based proteins, including Hydrolysates.
The Food Scientist will:
Description
ˇ Develop new hydrolysates from idea state, to pilot scale and production scale
ˇ Perform bench-top and pilot lab scale-up activities
ˇ Work in multidisciplinary teams, as project leader or team member
ˇ Trouble shoot production problems as needed
ˇ Coordinate product/process modifications to meet specific customer specifications
ˇ Test new raw materials and enzymes for production
ˇ Keep lab and pilot equipment up to date
Job requirements
ˇ BS required, (Masters a plus) in (Bio-)Chemistry or Food Science or equivalent
ˇ Must have at least 3 years of hands-on dairy - hydrolysates product development and applications experience
ˇ A few years of work experience in food/pharma production environment is helpful but not required
ˇ Be able to multi-task and run multiple parallel projects
ˇ Excellent and persuasive communication skills
ˇ Must be ro-active
ˇ Strong analytical and reporting skills
