Senior Process Engineer - Dairy Proteins

Location: New York

Job Description:

(Long term project based for 1 to 3 years with the likelihood of becoming permanent) Package includes excellent compensation, full benefits and relocation. 

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturer of high quality ingredients used in nutritional and pharmaceutical applications. Due to recent growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer for one of their key plants located in upstate NY. You will be working with international project teams in fast paced and dynamic environment. With other specialists you will determine how operations can improve production processes to ensure high quality standards and efficiency improvements. This involves doing research, data-analysis, testing and exploring new technologies. You will also be responsible for implementing corrective actions and upgrading of existing equipment. In our open and informal organization you will be challenged to contribute to the financial results of the project and company.   

Responsibilities

·         Project Management and supervision of Junior Engineers

·         Evaluate, implement and monitor processes and operating systems for the manufacture of protein hydrolysates.

·         Process design, system installation and start up of equipment

·         Create/edit / maintain necessary documentation.

·         Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.

·         Work closely with other specialists (including scientists).

·         All other duties, as assigned.  

Requirements 

·         Must have MS in Engineering.

·         Must have strong process engineering and project management experience

·         Must have prior experience orking with Dairy Ingredients, preferable protein hydrostates or infant formula

·         Able to facilitate small group activities with multi disciplinary teams

·         Six sigma

·         Experience with spray drying, vacuum – evaporation, CIP systems and filtration is a plus.

·         Self-motivated, hands-on individual with keen interest in quickly learning and applying new skills who can follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines.

·         Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments.

·         Good written and verbal communication

·         Experience with process design and system installation and start-up

·         Experience with food industry and hygienic design

·         Ability to train/educate people

·         Ability to run projects independently
