Material Manager

Location: Eau Claire, WI

Job Description:

Our client is a global leader in the manufacturing of quality food and ingredients. Due to continued growth, they have an immediate need for an experienced MATERIALS MANAGER for one of their KEY manufacturing plants located in Eau Claire, WI. This opportunity is ideal for the motivated, career oriented, materials professional with 2+ years of hands on manufacturing experience. Company will offer relocation assistance.

The MATERIALS MANAGER will manage production scheduling, inventory, logistics and supply chain at the plant and warehouse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Managing Production Planning to ensure a plan that meets customer requirements and minimizes plant costs

 

  • Controlling inventory levels and Inventory Turn Over (ITO) to meet management goals and objectives
  • Supervising 3 Material Coordinators
  • Training and developing direct reports to ensure ready bench strength that will be prepared to meet future talent needs within Organization
  • Responsible for all raw materials, finished goods and will managing the purchasing processes for ingredients, packaging and Maintenance Repair Operation (MRO)
  • Growing internal and external customer relationships to meet / exceed service metrics

·         Act as the Liaison with the Corporate Headquarters on Forecasting

·         Represents planning at Senior Plant Meeting

·         Must be able to travel occasionally

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field required
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in Materials or Supply Chain Management required
  • Must have experience supervising others or leading a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels within the facility and organization required
  • Must be ambitious and possess a strong business acumen  

·         Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills required

  • Internal and external Customer Service experience required
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Excel and Lotus Notes preferred
  • APICS CPIM (Certification in Production and Inventory Management) Certification is a plus but not required
  • Food and/or beverage manufacturing experience preferred
