Our client is a well known, global Flavor Manufacturer based in NJ. Due to recent growth, they are seeking an experienced BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to provide direction to their (SAVORY) Protein and Snack Division. This position is based in NJ and will report to the VP of Business Development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ÿ  This position is focused on the Protein category. Candidate will manage proactive and reactive development projects, working with a dedicated team and liaising with Account Managers and other functions within the Savory division

Ÿ  Provide leadership to drive overall strategic plan to insure Business Unit meets growth and profit targets

Ÿ  Responsible for managing the Application Laboratory Manager and Marketing Manager;

Ÿ  Develop and execute the zonal business plan strategies for each respective category in alignment with the global core category strategies

Ÿ  Be the internal advocate for the Companies client relationship

Ÿ  Proactively interpret the client needs and on an ongoing basis extrapolate brief input, market knowledge, client visit information into strategic action plans for profitable growth

Ÿ  Position Company to the client as the strategic partner for growth

Ÿ  With Marketing, develop marketing plan, identify growth opportunities, and work with Sales Team to ensure implementation as the road map to growth through account plans and category plans

Ÿ  With Technical Team, improve project win-rate by selecting key opportunities and executing on briefs

Ÿ  In conjunction with sales, manage pricing and margins in respective categories to ensure retention of profitable business and compliance with margin guidelines set by the Zone Vice President

Ÿ  Actively seek to understand our client's marketing and innovation strategies to better align the Company’s capabilities and innovation pipelines with our client's needs. Communicate unmet needs to the global strategy team. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Ÿ  Master's degree in Business Administration or Food Science degree

Ÿ  Management experience

Ÿ  Technical background in Food Science or other related field

Ÿ  Food, flavor and/or ingredients industry experience

Ÿ  Proven contribution to company's sales growth

Ÿ  Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ÿ  Excellent leadership, project management and organizational skills

Ÿ  Knowledge of the Protein and Food Service industry

Ÿ  Excellent reputation with clients

Ÿ  Ability to develop and execute strategic business plans

Ÿ  Excellent interpersonal skills

Ÿ  Ability to evolve in a multi-cultural environment

Ÿ  Must possess a positive and can-do attitude

Ÿ  Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
