Summary

LOGISTICS MANAGER – FOOD MANUFACTURING
PALM SPRINGS, CA
Our client is a rapidly growing food manufacturer based in the Palm Springs, CA area. They are looking for a reliable Logistics Manager to be responsible for the overall supply chain management. Logistics Manager responsibilities include organizing and monitoring storage and distribution of goods. The goal is to manage the entire order cycle to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services - with an emphasis on in/out-bound trucks and driver verification.
• Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
• Obtain quotes from 3PL Brokers and communicate awarded shipments/routes.
• Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
• Arrange warehouse, finished goods, plan routes and process shipments.
• Work with Production Scheduling and Warehouse Management to assure efficient/timely schedules and FIFO methodology.
• Resolve any arising problems, complaints, and discrepancies.
• Supervise, coach and train warehouse workforce - emphasis on using computer systems for Receivers, Outbound Paperwork/BOLs and Pallet tag/lot traceability/recalls.
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and any USDA requirements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Prefer candidates with a BS degree or equivalent hands-on experience
• Must have proven experience as a Logistics Manager.
• Must have manufacturing experience
• Must have a record of successful distribution and logistics management.
• Must have demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
• Proficient in standard logistics software (Microsoft Dynamics, a plus).
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain is preferred.
• Prefer candidates that are bilingual - English and Spanish.
• Understand and follow all standards, quality, food safety policies, and procedures.
