Summary

Our client is a global manufacturer and Dairy Co-op creating value-added dairy ingredients sold into sports nutrition, infant formula, medical, nutritional and therapeutic products. Based on expansion into North America, they are actively looking to hire an Account Manager (JR) with a few years of either ingredient sales, technical services or R&D with dairy or ingredients along with a desire to move into a commercial, sales management, leadership role. If you have a few years of industry experience, they will take the time to train, develop and allow you to hone your sales skills and techniques. Based in the greater Allentown, PA area, the Account Manager will report to the Senior Business Development Manager – Human Nutrition and will work directly with the company’s sales team members and their customers, along with the company’s supply chain and customer service teams, to support our Nutritional’s business and enable profitable growth. This is an opportunity for an entry-level salesperson to learn the business, sales techniques, and contribute to the growth of the company’s business. The focus of this role will be to support the Senior Business Development Manager – Human Nutrition with tactical sales activities at key current and prospective accounts. Target markets include infant formula, medical and therapeutic nutrition, and active nutrition segments.

Responsibilities

• Meet / exceed budgeted revenue targets at assigned accounts • Grow business at assigned existing and prospective customers • Assist with identifying and qualifying new customers aligned with the Company’s growth strategy • Learn Companies sales process and implement to facilitate sales activities and business growth • Collaborate actively, effectively and independently with internal technical, marketing & sales and other teams to support your business. • On a quarterly basis (i.e. Latest Estimate/Budget process), assist the Senior Business Development Manager to prepare a review of the Human Nutrition business. • On a monthly basis, proactively review with the Senior BDM and President, YTD sales performance versus plan, including recommendations for adjustments to close any performance gaps Customer Management • Facilitate day to day communication, sales activities, and management of commercial, technical, and logistical requirements for assigned accounts. • Using thorough understanding of Companies products and capabilities, effectively build multi-level customer networks to align company’s capabilities and products with customer needs. • Regular visits and interactions with customers (virtual / in-person) to build relationships, support existing business and drive new business. • Work in partnership with the Senior Business Development Manager – Human Nutrition to reinforce customer relationships and learn / provide knowledge of Company’s Nutritional’ capabilities. • Actively contribute to building and updating Companys USA’s opportunity pipeline Dairy Market / Industry Intelligence • Develop network of US market contacts and resources to obtain updated market information pertinent to Companys products and business • Contribute to increasing Companys presence and market insights by participating in targeted industry and trade shows

Requirements

• Must have at least a BA/BS degree • Prefer candidates that have at least 2-3 years’ experience in specialty/functional ingredient sales, technical service or R&D. • Experience working with Dairy Ingredients/Protein PREFERRED but not necessary • Prefer candidates with experience in technical B2B customer relationships and negotiation of business. • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships across multiple functions (management, R&D, manufacturing, marketing, quality, etc). • Rapid absorption of technical information and strong ability to communicate clearly and convincingly to colleagues and customers • Must be an outstanding team player and strong collaboration skills • Should be Results driven. • Must be able to commute to the Allentown, PA area • Must be able to travel within the US up to 30-40% In return, they can offer a competitive base salary, bonus opportunity, benefits and ample opportunity to learn, grow and advance within the company.
