Instrumentation and Control Engineer

Summary

Our client is a RAPIDLY growing food, equipment and technology manufacturer. The I&C Engineer is responsible for delivering assigned projects or assigned project deliverables. The I&C Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the project, from design and procurement to construction, commissioning, and start up as assigned by the I&C Discipline lead. The I&C Engineer is expected to bring a knowledge of standard industry practices and methods to complete their work in a timely professional manner. The Engineer should be familiar with standard engineering deliverables for the I&C discipline.

Responsibilities

The I&C Engineer is responsible for the specification and procurement of all hardware required by the design. This includes instrument specifications, packaged equipment, commercial off the shelf, and custom equipment. The I&C Engineer is responsible for the development of the control system. The hardware, the network design, the software design, and the HMI development. The I&C Engineer serves as a support engineer to other disciplines providing insight and expertise of I&C which may be applied to process and utility systems. The I&C Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of the HMI system, and the programming of the industrial control system. This includes adherence to change control, control narratives, and multidiscipline input. The I&C Engineer is responsible for completing field activities as assigned by the discipline lead. This includes pulling cables, terminating wires, instrument installation, instrument commissioning. The I&C Engineer will utilize themselves and technicians as required to complete the work activity. System start up, troubleshooting, and as built documentation. This role requires periodic travel (10-15% travel), including international travel, during system installation and commissioning.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience as an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer.
• Bachelor of Science in any Engineering discipline.
• Skills:
• AutoCAD (2-D)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Access
• Knowledge of industry standards. ISA 5.x, cybersecurity, and safety.
• Previous experience in constructing industrial facilities or operations of industrial facilities is desired.
